Biografia:: La Nintendo Co. Ltd. è una delle più grandi società del Giappone, specializzata nella realizzazione di console e videogiochi. di videogiochi e console. Creata nel 23 settembre 1889 da Fusajiro Yamauchi, la Nintendo ha avviato la sua attività come produttore di carte da gioco Hanafuda (solitamente utilizzate per il koi-koi, un gioco le cui regole ricordano vagamente la scopa), ed è entrata ufficialmente nel settore dei videogiochi nel 1975, inizialmente come distributore della Magnavox Odyssey, e poi come vero e proprio produttore con la Color TV Game, realizzata in collaborazione con la Mitsubishi Electric. A segnare la svolta l'uscita di Donkey Kong (creato di Shigeru Miyamoto) nel 1981 e l'arrivo sul mercato del Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), anche noto come Famicon, con serie come The Legend of Zelda e Super Mario Bros., cui hanno fatto seguito altre cinque console da tavolo (il Super Nintendo/Super Famicom/SNES, il Nintendo 64, il Nintendo GameCube, il Wii e il Wii U) e altrettante console portatili (Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS), oltre le relative varianti. Nel complesso la Nintendo ha pubblicato e sviluppato oltre 500 videogiochi, e oltre ad essere la regina indiscussa del genere platform, tra le sue saghe possono essere annoverati titoli come Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pokémon e Donkey Kong.
