Da ormai 20 anni la Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) e la Nikkei Business Publications, Inc organizzano il Tokyo Game Show, una delle principali fiere mondiali di videogiochi e la più importante tra quelle asiatiche. Anche se la manifestazione è dedicata prevalentemente al mercato nipponico, l'attesa è sempre molto alta in tutto il mondo perchè spesso qui vengono fatti annunci a livello mondiale sia per l'hardware, console ed accessori, che per il software.
 

Dal 15 al 18 settembre prossimi al Makuhari Messe, nella zona di Chiba, si svolgerà il Tokyo Game Show 2016, grazie alla lista rilasciata sul sito ufficiale veniamo quindi a scoprire chi sarà presente e chi invece mancherà all'appuntamento. Tra i big solo Sony avrà uno stand, durante la 4 giorni, i primi 2 solo per la stampa e gli altri 2 per il pubblico, la casa giapponese porterà molte novità e tra queste, stando ai rumors, dovrebbero esserci anche 2 console ovvero la PlayStation 4 Slim, versione di dimensioni ridotte dell'attuale modello, e la PlayStation 4 Neo, versione più potente della PlayStation 4. Per quanto riguarda Microsoft e Nintendo, entrambe le case potrebbero organizzare eventi privati nello stesso periodo ma non saranno presenti in fiera in maniera ufficiale. Per quanto riguarda la casa di Kyoto, si ipotizza possa organizzare un nuovo Nintendo Direct per svelare al mondo la prossima console nota con il nome in codice NX.
